OneTree Alaska Update
OneTree Alaska staff and volunteers will lead a workshop on developing the entrepreneurial mindset in K-12 students for the Alaska Gateway School District workshop this Tuesday. The group, well known for birch syrup and caramels, will be making birch syrup and looking at creating math and seasonality lesson plan extensions to the syrup-making activity.
Last week, staff from OneTree Alaska and Renewable Energy Alaska Project met in Anchorage to explore opportunities for partnering on energy and boreal forest education. OneTree is an ACEP partner providing outreach activities based on boreal forest trees to K-12 students, and is funded in part by the UAF Cooperative Extension Service and the Office of Naval Research.
