PuMA Recruitment in Kotzebue

PuMA Recruitment in Kotzebue

The PuMA team is currently recruiting households in Kotzebue, Alaska, to participate in a 24-month heating fuel oil use study. The study will produce the first dataset on actual heating fuel oil consumption for an Arctic community in Alaska. The data will be used to build thermal load profiles of residential properties and to compare actual fuel consumption to engineering model estimates.

The Pump Monitoring Apparatus is a noninvasive metering device used to collect fuel usage data from vented fuel oil heaters that use solenoid pumps as their means of pumping fuel to the combustion chamber.
Details about the project and recruitment are available at /fuel.
