Whitney Attends European Solar PV Conferences
ACEP’s Erin Whitney co-authored a paper and presentation entitled “Self-Consumption Rate Achieved by the Bifacial East-West Vertical PV System Compared to the Conventional South-Facing System in Nordic Countries.” Other contributors were Samuli Ranta from the Turku University of Applied Sciences in Finland, Joshua Stein from Sandia National Laboratories, and Hugo Huerta and Aleksi Heinonen, also from TUAS.
Whitney recently presented the paper at the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference in Marseille, France, and attended a two-day international Bifacial Solar Photovoltaics conference in Amsterdam.
Whitney learned about solar PV advances in Europe and also made valuable connections with researchers from other northern countries, including Sweden, Russia, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Canada, for purposes of exchanging data and research methods and challenges.
Whitney leads the Solar Technologies Program at ACEP. For more information, contact her at erin.whitney@alaska.edu.
