Graduate Scholarships, Fellowships, Jobs and Career Fairs

  • The Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation recently announced the opening of the 2022 Scholarship season.  Last year they increased the number of scholarships from 4 to 7, and the amount of each from $1500 to $2000.  This year they expect to give at least seven $2000 scholarships, more if fundraising permits.  There will be at least one for an early undergraduate (preferable community college), at least one other undergrad scholarship, one for an early grad student, one for a diversity candidate, and one for a First Nations student.  All aspects of renewable energy, including social sciences and humanities as well as sustainability and grid issues, are fair game.  The deadline for applications is Feb 15, 2022, and details can be found at the link above.
  • The U.S. Department of Energy is sponsoring a full-time fellowship that will enable individuals to work at Public Utility Commissions across the country on cutting-edge solar and other distributed energy resource (DER) issues. Duration is 1-year with the option for a 2nd year. A search is currently underway to find qualified candidates for the Oregon Public Utility Commission. Fellowship candidates and the associated PUC will submit a joint application to DOE. Additional program details can be found here. Interested candidates should send a resume and cover letter to Kat Burnham (kburnham@aee.net) indicating they were referred by Robert Haggart, a Policy Associate with Advanced Energy Economy
