Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Are Coming to the Railbelt

A recent news story reported that efforts are underway to build a network of electric vehicle charging stations along Alaska’s Railbelt. KUAC-FM’s Dan Bross described how state and private grants are boosting the push. More Alaskans are driving EVs and need places to charge their batteries on the roads between Fairbanks, Anchorage and the Kenai.

Michelle Wilber and Tim Leach from ACEP’s Beneficial and Equitable Electrification Initiative are part of the Alaska Electric Vehicle Working Group, which is exploring and discussing the obstacles and solutions to EV infrastructure in the Railbelt.

ACEP’s BEE initiative has developed an Alaska EV calculator and a report on issues associated with EVs in winter conditions, in addition to other information on EVs in Alaska.
