UAF’s Solar Test Site Live Data!

UAF’s Solar Test Site Live Data!

Following on the heels of the recent publication of data from the UAF Solar Test Site, ACEP has recently created a live data dashboard from the test site that is viewable from the Solar Technologies Program website.

Erin Whitney, Solar Technology Program manager, said, “Iris Tullar was instrumental in the realization of this project, which was started in the summer of 2020.”

Tullar, a student intern with ACEP since summer 2020, was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and is currently a junior mechanical engineering student at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

The dashboard shows the power in watts produced by each solar panel in live time, the irradiance (how much power the sun is emitting over a specific area) and the albedo (how much sunlight is reflected off the ground or snow).

Visit the Solar Technologies Program website for more information on our research, and contact Erin Whitney at erin.whitney@alaska.edu for more information.
