New Course Will Take an In-Depth Look at Innovation
A new UAF course that will be offered in the spring 2023 semester takes an in-depth look at innovation. The course, led by Christine Resler, president and chief executive officer for Arctic Slope Regional Corp. Energy Services, will look at innovation through the examples of startups, think tanks and existing commercial organizations. Resler is a champion of low-carbon energy solutions that will reduce Alaska’s carbon footprint.
Students will examine case studies and learn from guest speakers. The course goals are to introduce students to examples and tools for successful innovation and to provide the opportunity to apply the lessons learned to a project. Students will complete the course with an understanding of how to encourage and implement innovation, both within new organizations and established entities. The course is sponsored by UAF’s Center for Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship.
