Daisy Huang Joins Alaska Resource Education POWR Roundtable
Daisy Huang, ACEP’s assistant professor of energy, joined a talented line-up of women professionals last week to speak with girls from six high schools across the Anchorage School District as part of the Powerful Opportunities for Women in Resources roundtable discussion organized by Alaska Resource Education.
The goal of POWR is to engage women in learning about careers in the natural resource industry and to be a part of the movement to shape a sustainable future for Alaska and beyond. POWR’s learning ecosystem is a career and project-based learning exploration for women in natural resources while providing earned elective credits.
Huang was among other “POWRful” women on this panel, including representatives from the Resource Development Council of Alaska, Inc., Council of Alaska Producers, Launch Alaska and Associated General Contractors of Alaska.
“It was incredibly inspiring to be a part of this roundtable discussion with other incredible women in the natural resource field,” Huang said. “It was an honor to play a part in ‘emPOWRing’ future women scientists and engineers here in Alaska.”
