What Role Will Microreactors Play in Alaska’s Energy Future?
The federal government, the U.S. Department of Defense, traditional energy providers and researchers continue to explore the potential for nuclear microreactors to meet the energy needs of the future. With the capacity to provide up to 20 megawatts of thermal energy that can be used directly or converted to electricity, microreactors may offer a solution for remote emergency and military needs.
Join a panel of energy experts during a Commonwealth North event who will discuss the market potential, policy and technology landscape, and possible solutions that microreactors may offer to Alaska’s unique energy needs.
Speakers include ACEP’s Gwen Holdmann, Richelle Johnson from UAA’s Center for Economic Development, Michael Valore from Westinghouse, and Jacob Dewitt from Oklo Inc.
