Alaskans — Give Your Input on EV Charging Station Locations
The Alaska Energy Authority has invited Alaskans to provide input on locating electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The invitation is part of preparation to respond to the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program, part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The request asks for input along Alaska’s alternative fuel corridor and other locations across the state, including highways, the marine highway system and rural Alaska.
The NEVI Formula Program provides $5 billion nationally for EV charging infrastructure. Under the program, Alaska will receive more than $50 million over five years, beginning in fiscal year 2023. The funding will help build a statewide EV fast-charging network and community-based charging sites across Alaska.
Now is your last chance to provide feedback on this request for information, as it closes today, June 13, 2022.

In addition to issuing the request for information, AEA is hosting two more public informational sessions about the EV program June 15 and June 21. You can attend in person at AEA’s Anchorage office, located at 813 W Northern Lights Blvd., or virtually by registering at akenergyauthority.org/evinfo.
