Shungnak Microgrid Named Best Project of 2022

Solar Builder magazine recognized the Shungnak Community Microgrid Solar Project as the microgrid of the year.

The microgrid consists of a 225-kilowatt solar array and battery system that allows the villages of Shungnak and Kobuk to run diesel-off for most of the day in summer.

Watch this video featuring an interview about the project and the energy systems with project manager Dave Messier of Daylight Energy Services, Ingemar Mathiasson from the Northwest Arctic Borough, and Wes Kennedy with Blue Planet Energy.

Congratulations to the team and the community of Shungnak for their work together.
