Major: Art, Biological Sciences (minor)

Hello! My name is Amber, and I am a second year student here at UAF. I was born in North Carolina, but my family moved to Homer, Alaska soon after I turned three. Being raised in Homer with such a heavily artistic environment encouraged me to try out drawing, then singing, acting, painting, and ceramics. Soon enough, art is all I wanted to do with my time. Paired with my passion for natural biology, it was no question as to what I wanted to study once I got to college.

The amazing recruitment staff at UAF is what got me to come try it out, and the even better student culture and academic opportunities is what got me to stay. You can find me cheering on our Nanooks hockey team off campus, or on campus doing schoolwork at the Rasmuson Library or Arctic Java.
