Hometown: Kodiak, AK

Hi there! My name is Clara Underwood. I was born and now live in Fairbanks, but have lived in Dillingham (Curyung) and Kodiak, Alaska. My parents are both biologists and taught me much about Alaskan nature and wildlife. I decided to come to UAF to study Wildlife and Conservation as a Biology major, but ended up dropping out of school after my freshman year. I knew I wanted to come back to school at some point, but I wasn’t sure if my previous major was right for my goals. And after a bit of time, real life experience, and vision for my future, I am now back at UAF as a Communications Major. As a Communications major, I am really interested in human connection and contact. I am pretty excited about anything to do with community, organization and social interaction.

As a student at UAF, community is incredibly important. Because UAF is diverse and rich with student resources, it is easy to find and make friends. This campus provides a unique experience with unique people. Let me know if you have any questions and I hope to see you around!
