Hello! My name is Isaac, and I am studying Geological Engineering here at UAF. Born and raised in Alaska, I knew I wanted to stay in-state and study geology in some capacity. At a college fair, I discovered Geological Engineering as an option at UAF and decided to go for it, and I have loved the program. It has been great learning how the different rocks and soils act and how to recognize and account for various geologic hazards. Having been homeschooled my whole life, the transition from that to college was daunting, but the staff and community here have made me feel welcome, and Fairbanks has become my second home. I love hanging out with friends at Arctic Java and going to Nanook hockey games to support our team. Let me know if you have any questions about UAF!
