Develop, promote and maintain accessible practices to increase inclusivity, advocate on behalf of individuals with disabilities, assist with monitoring these efforts, and provide advice to the ADA/504 coordinator.

Objective:

Receive updates; discuss current processes, prevention and education programming; and provide guidance and feedback to the Title IX coordinator. Members are from Residence Life, Office of Rights, Compliance and Accountability, Human Resources, Athletics, Student Health and Counseling, UAF Police Department, Nanook Diversity and Action Center, governance groups (student, faculty and staff), and the UAF Resource and Advocacy Center.  In addition to those from the Fairbanks campus, members come from the Community and Technical College and the Interior Alaska, Kuskokwim, Bristol Bay, Chukchi and Northwest campuses.

This team is a formal working committee whose overarching strategy is to provide leadership and momentum around implementing educational opportunities, policies and programs that will further racial equity within UAF. Objective:

Formed in January 2009, the UAF Safety Coordination Committee provides a forum to discuss and coordinate university efforts to provide a safe, compliant workplace and serves as an advisory committee to the chancellor. The committee's primary task is to assist in the development, implementation and refinement of programs, policies and procedures that will enhance a safe working environment, and promote compliance with regard to applicable university, local, state and federal regulations. The Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Native Education provides advocacy for the Alaska Native body at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The committee offers guidance and advice to the chancellor on Native issues and in the planning, monitoring and improvement of educational opportunities at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for Alaska Native students. Objective:

The IDEA Task Force was tasked with making recommendations to the chancellor on strategies and actions to create a diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible community that will systematically foster an open and supportive learning, teaching and working environment for all.
