Programs and Courses

One of the most exciting parts of college is the freedom to take courses that speak to your interests and are taught by experts in their fields. Joining one of the dual enrollment programs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks is a great way to get a head start on college and see which majors and topics interest you most.

Dual Enrollment Requirements

As you explore dual enrollment options at UAF, one of the first things you should do is talk with your family and high school counselor to figure out which program is right for you and whether you qualify to join.

Our Alaska Advantage dual enrollment program is fully online. No matter where you live in Alaska, you can enjoy the rewarding challenge of college courses that fit your learning style and schedule.

The courses we offer can help you meet your high school requirements while you earn college credit! They can also help you decide if you are interested in earning a future degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks after you graduate high school.

If you’re able to travel to the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus and are looking for an on-campus experience, North Star College  has everything you need.

Once you are selected through the random lottery process and join North Star College, you will be enrolled in pre-selected cohort classes that meet dual enrollment requirements. These courses include junior- and senior-level support classes that will teach you vital college study skills. The best part is this is fully funded by the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District.

If you know that you want to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks after graduation and meet the dual enrollment requirements, you can join the Alaska Higher Education Admission Decision (AHEAD)  program.

In the AHEAD program, you will be formally admitted to the University of Alaska Fairbanks as a general studies major.

Whether you want to earn a University of Alaska Fairbanks online degree or an on-campus degree, starting your college journey early through AHEAD can introduce you to many different majors and professors and can help you graduate sooner.
