Donations sought for 2019 Alternative Spring Break team

This spring 14 UAF students will travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands to volunteer in hurricane relief efforts and work with a local job training program. These students are part of the Alternative Spring Break program. For the past 11 years UAF students have been able to use their spring break to give back to communities around the world.
The UAF program has traveled across Alaska, the United States, and as far south as El Salvador to promote responsible global citizenship. The impact of Alternative Spring Break reaches far beyond the week of service. It instills a passion for service that students carry back to their local communities and that can last throughout their lives.
This year's students represent 14 majors, from electrical engineering to linguistics. They are paying a portion of the trip's expenses out of pocket, and are fundraising the remaining cost of the trip.
