The virtual 5k is meant to help you get out and exercise during this time of social distancing and quarantine. The idea behind this event is that each person who participates will run, jog, walk or ski their own 5k. After completing the 5k, participants can log their times through the Race Center page. So even if we can't meet to do the event together, we can virtually encourage each other to exercise and get outside!

How does it work?

You have 10 weeks to complete a 5km (3.1 miles) walk, jog, run or ski. Then you will report your finishing time on our Report Results page between March 17 and  May 31. Get a Nanook Recreation T-shirt and check out the race results on the results page or your fellow competitors finish line photos.

Find more information under Virtual Races.

New to running?

We have you covered! Check out our Training Resources page in the Race Center and you will find a get started guide. There are training plan examples and safety tips to make this a fun and healthy experience.
