Nominations are now open for the 2026 Business Leader of the Year Award.
The College of Business and Security Management has been honoring business leaders
since 1977. Recipients of the award are selected by a committee of CBSM students,
faculty, advisory board members and former recipients based on merits of leadership,
business accomplishments, community involvement and educational support.
This event is unique because students play a major role in the planning and attendance.
Student committees include: Co-chairs, Decorations, Door Prizes, Raffle Ticket Sales,
Marketing, and Volunteer Management.

“Being part of planning Business Leader of the Year, first as a volunteer and then
as a co-chair, has been one of the biggest honors of my time at UAF. It showed me
how strongly Fairbanks, UAF, and CBSM show up for one another. To me, real business
leadership isn’t about titles or money, but about using your success to lift your
community, and BLOY lets students like me be a small part of that.”
