Narrative Film Production

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Theatre and Film offers extensive training and experiential learning opportunities for Film and Performing Arts students in narrative film. From screenwriting, to final color, we bring students from concept to screen step-by-step. Students can participate in production through courses as well as student-led productions as writers, directors, actors, cinematographers, production designers, gaffers, sound location mixers, composers, script supervisors, costume designers, etc. Our students have participated in productions which have screened at Sundance Film Festival, ImagineNative Film Festival, and seen distributed through PBS, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and more.

Our program works as a small film production company, and we work together to make films that make an impact.
