About the Student Health and Counseling Center
At the Student Health and Counseling Center, students may receive various medical services, counseling, health education, and assistance with Graduate student insurance or LewerMark insurance. Students must pay the consolidated fee and be an active student to be eligible for these services.

SHCC Patient Portal
Sign into the SHCC Patient Portal using your UA username and password. Students can upload immunization records and print them, update health history and profile information and see all the outreaches provided by Student Health and Counseling around campus. (Instructions for Patient Portal)
Services
Counseling services
The counseling staff offers individual, group and crisis intervention counseling. Counselors, all with graduate-level training, assist with a variety of personal and interpersonal issues. Students should call to schedule appointments. Students in emergency situations are usually seen the same day.
Medical services
The medical staff provides primary health care and referrals for specialty medical services when appropriate. General office visits for preventive care, illness and injury are covered by the consolidated fee students pay and are provided at no charge . Medications, laboratory services, medical supplies and some physical examinations are provided at reduced cost. Students should call for appointments. Urgent care appointments are available when necessary.

TimelyCare virtual services
TimelyCare is offered as a supplement to the extensive existing in-person and virtual services offered by the UAF Student Health and Counseling Center. This no cost service offers enrolled students residing in the United States virtual mental health care 24/7, 365 days/year and up to 9 scheduled mental health therapy sessions per academic year.

SHCC is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Closed weekends and UAF holidays.

Refills
Refills must be called in at least 48 hours prior to being picked up. Please call ahead 907-474-7043 to make sure your prescription is ready for pick up.
Records requests
After submitting your records request, please allow 48 - 72 hours for request to be processed. Counseling records may take longer to process depending on circumstance.
