Ms. Deanna Dieringer

Director of Financial Aid, Emeritus 

WHEREAS Ms. Deanna Dieringer has served the University of Alaska Fairbanks with distinction in multiple administrative staff roles from 1989 to 2022; and

WHEREAS Ms. Dieringer began working full time for the university after earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration from UAF, and she was employed in the Office of the Registrar, the Office of the Bursar and finally the Office of Financial Aid, where she has served as director for the past thirteen years; and

WHEREAS Ms. Dieringer’s efforts have enabled tens of thousands of students to attend UAF, and she is an exceptionally hard worker who has high expectations for herself and those around her, and she possesses invaluable institutional knowledge; and

WHEREAS Ms. Dieringer, who played basketball for UAF, has been a dedicated supporter of the athletics program, and she has personally handled the financial aid of hundreds of student-athletes and ensured they received all benefits possible, attending to every detail and regulation with care;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the University of Alaska Fairbanks expresses its deep appreciation to Ms. Deanna Dieringer for her extensive contributions to the state of Alaska and to the university; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the University of Alaska Fairbanks, in further recognition of the invaluable services rendered by Ms. Dieringer and as evidence of the university’s desire that her identification with the university be maintained, hereby confers upon Ms. Deanna Dieringer the title of director of financial aid, emeritus; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be appropriately engrossed and signed by the chancellor as further evidence of the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ esteem and respect for Ms. Deanna Dieringer, and conveyed to Ms. Dieringer on this twenty-ninth day of April, 2022.
