UAF Organizational Eligibility
OGCA often receives questions about organizational eligibility for certain programs, based on their specific requirements. Here is some information that answers some of the common requests we receive regarding eligibility.
Currently, no. NIH has split the previous R15 program into two areas:
- Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) for Undergraduate-Focused Institutions
- Research Enhancement Award Program (REAP) for Health Professional Schools and Graduate Schools
AREA Eligibility: At the time of application submission, all the non-health professional components of UAF have not received support from the NIH totaling more than $6 million per year (in both direct and F&A/indirect costs) in 4 of the last 7 fiscal years. Note that all activity codes are included in this calculation except the following: C06, S10, and all activity codes starting with a G.
REAP Eligibility:»At the time of application submission, the UAF may not have received support from the NIH totaling more than $6 million per year (in both direct and F&A/indirect costs) in 4 of the last 7 fiscal years. Note that all activity codes are included in this calculation except the following: C06, S10, and all activity codes starting with a G.
UAF NIH Funding (FY12-18): This data was run from the NIH RePORT website, using the R15 eligibility determination instructions provided by NIH. As shown below, UAF has received more than $6 million of NIH support in 6 of the last 7 fiscal years. None of the activity codes excluded from this determination are part of UAF's funding. Therefore, UAF is not currently eligible for either an AREA or REAP R15 application.
