Employment Opportunity! - Small Animal Internist
November 18, 2024The Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) is seeking an energetic, board-certified (ACVIM, ECVIM or equivalent) Small Animal Veterinary Internal Medicine specialist with a passion for teaching to join us as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Small Animal Medicine. This faculty appointment will focus on teaching first- and second-year DVM students in our small program (14 students per cohort), as well as providing university service. Opportunities for collaborative research exist both within UAF as well as with our partner, Colorado State University. We are looking for a collegial colleague to share their expertise in our organ-systems-based curriculum, which incorporates team-based learning, traditional didactic lectures, and ample opportunities for hands-on practice of clinical skills.

The Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position for veterinarians with interest or experience in gastrointestinal, nutrition, and internal medicine. We are seeking a team-orientated faculty member to enthusiastically instruct students and develop new curriculum content related to nutrition and gastroenterology in Fairbanks, where phenomenal outdoor recreational opportunities exist year round. Applicants with board certification in Internal medicine or nutrition are encouraged to apply. Ideal applicants would have extensive high quality clinical experience.

Externship Applications CLOSED for 24-25
August 1, 2024Want to work with sled dogs? The University of Alaska Fairbanks is offering veterinary medicine externships for matriculating veterinary students from other colleges (in their final or next to final clinical year). Students may work in conjunction with local (Fairbanks, Alaska) and AK state agencies, the lead veterinarian of the Yukon Quest, rural veterinarians, and veterinary research faculty at UAF.
