Transfer Students: How to Transfer VA Education Benefits to UAF

Your first step as a transfer student is to apply for admission to the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The VA requires that you apply to an approved program in order to receive benefits. You can transfer military education benefits to UAF even after having used a portion of your benefits at another school.

Learn on your own time from anywhere in the world with GEM

UAF has partnered with the Community College of the Air Force's (CCAF) GEM program. This program offers Airmen the opportunity to access our general education courses in an online setting to fulfill the CCAF Associate in Applied Science (AAS) general education requirements.

Deploying from Fort Wainwright? UAF wants to cover your course and application fees

UAF is covering all course fees and the application fee for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters for Fort Wainwright and Alaska National Guard active duty service members currently deployed or deploying in support of a named operation. With your tuition assistance benefit, that means you’ll pay almost nothing out of pocket.
