Debbie Blank, BLM-Anchorage Field Office, secured funding and a cooperative agreement between BLM and the University of Alaska Museum Herbarium to assure this inventory would become a reality.

Our 1997 field crew consisted of Al Batten and Carolyn Parker, University of Alaska Museum Herbarium; Mike Duffy, Jenna Cole, and Marta McWhorter, all volunteers with BLM; and BLM botanist Debbie Blank.

In 1998 Blank, Batten and Parker were joined by Carl Roland and Barbara Murray, affiliates with the University of Alaska Museum Herbarium, Robert Lipkin, AKNHP, and Jacqueline D'Auria, BLM volunteer.

The staff at Brown's Lodge treated us like family during our stay in Unalakleet both summers, and pilots Paul Walters (TransAlaska Helicopters, 1997) and Bruce Alumbaugh (Kenai Air Alaska, 1998) got us all home for supper every night, no small feat given Bering Sea weather conditions.
