Objectives

The primary objectives of this inventory are:

1) To document the occurrence, habitat, and abundance of all species found that are listed as a 'species of concern' by the USFWS, or ranked as critically imperiled to rare (S1-S3) by the Alaska Natural Heritage Program (AKNHP).

2) To conduct a preliminary inventory of the vascular and nonvascular flora of the region focusing on select sites suspected of supporting sensitive or uncommon taxa.

3) To process and maintain a permanent voucher collection of the vascular flora to be held at the University of Alaska Museum Herbarium, Fairbanks (ALA).

4) To create and maintain a database of the collection information with the Northern Plant Documentation Center (NPDC) at ALA which will be available to BLM-Anchorage Field Office.

5) To provide detailed information concerning those species being tracked by AKNHP for inclusion into their database and to be made available to BLM-Anchorage Field Office.
