Community Visits & Outreach
Our education staff partner to share space science in schools, libraries, and museums throughout the state. UAMN and partners have many ways to serve your community (kits, virtual programs, in-person programs, etc) and can work with you to find a fit! Activity Kits and Packets

In 2020 and 2021, we worked with community leaders to share aurora activity packets with kids and families. Learning packets included all materials to explore at-home and offline. Some groups also received outreach from museum educators via Zoom. Communities served:
Fairbanks (21st Century ASP), North Pole (21st Century ASP), Dillingham (4H & Campfire), Anchorage (Camp Fire AK), Nenana, Atmautluk (Rural Cap), Copper Center (Rural Cap), Kokhanok (Rural Cap), Nanwalek (Rural Cap), Sand Point (Rural Cap), Craig (Rural Cap), Stebbins (Rural Cap), Thorne Bay (Rural Cap), Soldotna (Rural Cap), Kotzebue, Aniak (Kobuk Afterschool), Eielson Air Force Base (School Age Program), Chalkyitsik, Arctic Village, Tanana, Beaver, Minto, and Eagle.
In 2022, we distributed ten Sun Discovery Kits to organizations throughout the state. These kits are designed for afterschool, informal learning, and classroom discoveries. UAMN also has a kit available for local checkout by educators. Sun Discovery Kit recipients:

In addition, several communities were sent digital Sun Discovery Kits (USB only) and other space science materials. Digital Sun Discovery Kit recipients:
