Admission Requirements

You should apply three to four months before the semester in which you plan to enroll. At the latest, your application for graduate admission with all supporting documentation, transcripts, and test scores should be received six weeks prior to beginning classes.

The deadlines for admissions are:

  • Fall semester: June 1st
  • Spring semester: October 15th
  • Summer semester: May 1st

Application Requirements

  • Applicants with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from UAF or another AACSB-accredited institution with a GPA higher than 3.25 are not required to complete an entrance exam for this program.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from UAF or another AACSB-accredited institution with a GPA between 3.25 and 2.75 are required to take the Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Exam and pass with a minimum score of 25.
  • Applicants with non-business degrees with a GPA from 4.00 to 2.75 are required to take the Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Exam and pass with a minimum score of 25.
  • All applicants with an undergraduate GPA lower than 2.75 must submit results from the GRE or the GMAT for review.
  • Applicants with a graduate degree from an accredited university may be admitted without an entrance exam.
  • The following items must be included with your application:
    • Current resume
    • Statement of goals
    • Three letters of recommendation

Prerequisites

Don't have a business degree? Not a problem! Take the foundational pre-MBA modules and within no time you'll be ready to begin earning your MBA. NOTE: All students who have completed their undergraduate degree more than ten years ago will need to take the prerequisite modules.

Pre-MBA Modules

Pre-MBA modules at the UAF College of Business and Security Management are available online and are self-study paced. Each module is available for $100, which includes all course materials needed. You have up to three opportunities to pass the final exam for each module with a score of 80%. The goal of these modules is to provide you with the foundational knowledge you need for the MBA courses. These modules are also a great way to test the waters if you are considering pursuing an MBA, but are unsure of the type of material that will be covered.

  • Financial Accounting
  • Fundamentals of Economics
  • Managerial Accounting
  • Principles of Management
  • Principles of Marketing
  • Understanding Corporate Finance
