FAQ
Typical questions asked about this program include:
What is the length of the program?
How long it takes to earn your MSDM degree depends on how quickly you choose to complete the required 30 credits of coursework; the MSDM program at UAF can be completed at your own pace. A full load of classes consists of 9 credits per semester or 18 credits per year. Most MSDM students finish the program within 2-3 years.
What is the cost of the program?
Based on the 2021-2022 school year, the estimated cost of tuition (including general fees) to complete the MSDM program ranges from $20,772 to $23,035 for all online students (online students automatically receive in-state tuition). Costs will vary depending on whether students choose 400-level or 600-level courses for their two electives.
Additional costs could include entrance exams, books and application fees.
For complete information on estimated cost of attendance, visit the UAF eCampus Tuition & Fees page. For a better idea of tuition cost, you can also use the UAF tuition calculator.
Is financial aid available?
CBSM’s MSDM program offers some financial aid opportunities to its students in the form of scholarships and paid teaching assistant (TA) positions. There are usually three available TA positions that span the traditional academic year (fall and spring semesters). TA benefits include an annual stipend, 9-credit tuition waiver, health insurance and teaching experience. Teaching assistantships will be competitive among admitted students. Contact Angel Buchanan, MSDM Advisor, for more information.
